Pastel Painting with Purpose and Exploration with Jeanne Bril 
Tuesday, March 25:  10 am-1 pm 
To develop purpose, we will consider just what we want to communicate and then practice techniques that support that purpose. This course is both an introduction to pastel and an overview on creating artwork generally. Jeanne will address choosing a scene, under painting, using different surfaces, mark making and adding light to create interest and drama. “I want to give you tools to use in your personal practice and to have fun! We will enjoy the experience of learning and creating by letting ourselves play while we continue to build our toolkit.” – Jeanne Bril. Participants should bring a Sketchbook (approximately 9x12”), a photograph or print of a scene to paint and any pastels or papers you prefer to use. Pastels, pencils and pastel paper will also be provided.
