Culture-Inspired Wire Wrap Wearable Art with Angela Hamilton
Tuesdays, October 15, 22, 29: 6-8 pm
In this hands-on series, students will learn about the history of jewelry in different cultures and render wearable art pieces inspired by those cultures. What is behind the choices to wear certain jewelry and clothing? What was the symbolism and meaning behind the materials? Through deeper understanding, we learn to appreciate cultural artifacts and are proudly able to exhibit beautiful works of wearable art. Grab your passport, pack an open mind, enthusiasm and your creativity because we are going to Egypt…and then Ghana…and then returning home for inspiration from our own indigenous cultures. All tools and supplies are included in the class fee; a separate materials fee of $30 is payable to the instructor on the first day of class.
